24 Manai Telugu Chettiar

Where does it come from?
Sri N.M Palaniappa Chettier (Late) was born in the year 1900 in a village called Kottaimarudur, Karur District, Tamilnadu. He ventured into business by selling five types of edible oil in a basket which he carried on his head. Then he moved to a small town called Pallathur and started a small shop. In the year 1935, he moved to Bangalore with his wife Smt. Parvathi Ammal along with their children (sons) Nachimuthu, Namashivayam and Muthusamy, to continue his business. He took the lead to build a temple for Sri Siddhanatha Udanurai Sri Angalaparameshwari in Karur District (TN) along with the help of his community and respectable elders. He performed the Kumbabishekam in the year 1963. This is the first temple to be constructed for a home.

Present

Sri P K T Manohar was born on 9th March 1958 in Mysore, Karnataka. He became the President of the temple in the year 2022 after the demise of his father P K T Kandaswamy Chettiar who was the President at that time. P K T Kandaswamy Chettiar put his time and effort along with the elders to start the new temple at Jegathabi. P K T Manohar also worked along with his father to fulfil his vision.
